A bipolar school teacher (Bradley Cooper) cuts a deal with a depressed widow (Jennifer Lawrence) to get his estranged wife back. Bradley cooper was the clear winner in this erratic, fast paced acting race. He showed extreme depth in his character’s struggle with mental illness. As complex as her character was on paper, Lawrence failed to deliver on screen. Her one dimensional and rather nonchalant approach was draining.  At one point, I was reciting her lines before she said them.  Overall the film was pretty comedic and romantic, in a mating praying mantis type of way. 550
